If you come back to Halong bay just after a few years, you will be surprised about how many junks on the Halong quay at the moment. There are about 500 junks in Halong bay now for you to choose from. Quality is also changing day by day, there were only a few junk taking tourist on basic day cruise in the past but now you can choose from top end junk quality as a floating hotels on the bay to budget junks just cost about couple of ten dollars per night.

The first companies did the overnight cruise are Huong Hai and Bai Tho junk (They are now still the biggest junk companies in Halong bay with few ten of overnight junks). From the beginning, they offered basic accommodation and meals plus rubber kayaks on the bay,  now you can choose their deluxe rooms and latest update of imported kayaking equipment.

Last couple of years,  some other names appeared with higher class such as: Emeraude cruise, Ginger cruise....which provide luxury cruise and accommodation.
